Humans of Kampala

Mød syv skæbner, som hver især fortæller om, hvad de laver, hvilke udfordringer de står over for og hvad de drømmer om. Fælles for dem alle er, at de har rødder i Kampalas barske, overfyldte og tæt befolkede slumområder.

Video 2 – Boda Boda According to the UN, the majority of road traffic deaths and serious injuries take place in urban areas, therefore UN’s sustainability goal number 11 works to make cities more safe.

Video 3 – Vand A study from 2023 concludes: “Inequalities in access to safely managed water and sanitation services remain one of the barriers to making urban informal settlements more inclusive and safe areas to live.” It also concludes that only 12% of the water services and 7% of the sanitation services were safely managed in Kinawataka.

Video 4 – Ronnie KSI Article 31 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child states that a child has a right to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child. This could be skateboarding as well as some other playful activity.

Video 5 – Isaac KSI Target 11.3.2 of the Sustainable Development Goals aims to create cities where urban planning and civil society go hand in hand.


Video 6 – Joy (Motorcross) UNs sustainable development goal number 5 strive to improve equality between men and women. Motorcross is a male dominated sport, but sees increasing popularity amongst younger women.

Video 7 – Patience El Cambio “El Cambio Academy was born from a belief that football can be more than a game. It can be a pathway to education, personal growth, and lasting change.” - elcambioacademy.com. They believe in a holistic approach where sport, education, and personal development contribute to each other.
