How international artists are shaping Copenhagen's live music scene
International artists have been traveling to Copenhagen forever, see how these performances are affecting the local music scene.

For many international artists, Copenhagen provides a lively, vibrant, and growing audience which makes it an exciting city to perform in.
With over 34,000 concerts happening in Denmark annually, and an increase of 400,000 participants within the 2022-2023 year, the local music scene is thriving in the region's capital.
Carlos Lopez, lead singer of Barcelona death metal band, Sanctuarium, expresses that the music scene in Copenhagen is one of the most active he's ever witnessed.
“The music scene in Copenhagen is very good and active. Remarkably pleasant. I would for sure come back to perform here,” he stated.
For live music attendee Frederik Peter Thomsen, the Copenhagen scene is incredibly appealing.
He says he is drawn to Copenhagen for both local and international acts, but is “more inclined” to book tickets to international bands.
“Cool international acts only go to Copenhagen in Denmark,” he says. So if you want to see them, that’s where you have to go.
Copenhagen has become a hub for live music, not just for artists, but for Danes too.
Later this year Copenhagen is set to host Radiohead at its Royal Arena, a band that is expected to sell out within the day of tickets going live.
Frederik says that there is such a buzz around touring artists doing shows in Copenhagen, that he always struggles to get tickets.
