A photographic exploration of the suburbs of Hamburg

“Some Of These Days” is a project about the suburbs of Hamburg and the young people who live there. It reflects on what growing up in suburban areas means today, at a time increasingly shaped by anxiety about an uncertain future.

Having grown up close to a midsized town on the outskirts of Hamburg, I wanted to return to the suburbs and explore them in winter. The edge of the city is interesting to me, as living there feels like a constant state of flux. The city is always close, yet just out of reach, quietly nagging at you. You can choose to resist it—or to give in to it.
